Warning: If you're not that into Disney, you might just want to scroll though the pictures!
Today, we went back to Disney Land to try to get in on some of those rides with queues a mile long. We came prepared. We decided the one ride we really wanted to do (actually she insisted - Lee) was Pooh's Hunny Hunt, a ride where you go through the world of Winne the Pooh in a Hunny Pot that has no track. The cars are autonomously programmed (or some cast members have awesome jobs controlling them), spinning, whirling, and gliding through the 100 Acre Wood. We decided that three hours was a short enough wait time, as it was much shorter than it had been, and got in line.
We waited...
...and waited...
...and waited...
...and finally got around to where we could see the entrance sign again, just before going into the ride itself. Yes, that's 150 minutes, a whole 20 minutes less than when we started. It only took a little over two hours in line, enough for me to finish what I was knitting and start the next ball of yarn in my bag, and for Lee to start and finish his book. Many families were sending representatives for lunch, and had we been thinking, we might have brought our lunch into line with us instead of eating before heading over. The honey flavored popcorn (and Pooh themed souvenir buckets!) queue was right across from the queue for the ride. We did not partake, as waiting 20 minutes for popcorn was not going to happen.
I must say the ride itself would not have been worth the wait had we been without things to entertain ourselves with. It was enjoyable and makes for an interesting blog post! And it is the only Pooh ride in the world so it was imperative.
We went on a few smaller rides and enjoyed dinner at the Blue Bayou, which was surprisingly inexpensive and very picturesque over the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, like the one in California or the Mexican restaurant in Epcot. It is made up to look like being outside at night on the bayou, with part of the Pirates ride moving through the water offshore. We decided to head back early because the rides we wanted to ride had inconceivable wait times, it was getting a bit cold, and it was too long before the parade to just hang out. After all, we had another day, we could see the parade on Tuesday, right?
